#1 New York Times best-selling author Brad Thor brings readers his darkest and most intriguing thriller yet - a terrifying story of espionage and betrayal - brilliantly paced with superb nonstop action.

Born in the shadows and kept from heads of state, there are some missions so deadly, so sensitive, that they simply don't exist.

When one such mission goes horribly wrong, a wave of dramatic terrorist attacks is set in motion. Their goal the complete and total collapse of the United States.

With the CIA's intelligence abilities hobbled, former Navy SEAL Team 6 member turned covert counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath launches an audacious plan to infiltrate the terrorists' network and prevent one of the biggest threats the United States has ever faced.

Simultaneously, a foreign wet work team has been sent to California. Their target one of Hollywood's most famous filmmakers.

While working on a secret documentary project, movie producer Larry Salomon has unknowingly exposed one of the world's wealthiest and most politically connected powerbrokers - a man with a radical anti-American agenda poised to plunge the nation into deadly, irreversible chaos.

As the plots rocket to their pulse-pounding conclusion and the identities of the perpetrators are laid stunningly bare, Harvath will be left with only one means to save America. Unable to trust anyone, he will be forced to go Full Black.

Intense and frighteningly realistic, Full Black is, hands down, Brad Thor's most riveting thriller to date.

I will give a five-in-one review for the five Thor books I just 'read' in one day. I wish the author progress, and he currently has all the tools - characters, plot, action - but lacks the most fundamental one. There's no poetry or music in his writing. Reading a Thor book is like bumping along a cobblestone road on hard bike rims. I prefer the smooth roller coaster thrillers of Lee Childs, Vince Flynn, John Stanford, or JD McDonald.

Full Black (Audible Audio Edition) Brad Thor Armand Schultz Simon Schuster Audio Books Reviews

Full Black was my first introduction to Brad Thor. The book is a very good standalone action thriller while still fitting in the context of a larger story. Thor's hero, Scot Harvath, is in the middle of an operation to crack open a terror cell in Europe with plans for the United States as well. Simultaneously, a Hollywood film director is on the hit list of some very unsavory people who don't like his current project. Behind the scenes is an evil billionaire bent on fundamentally changing the United States into his own twisted utopia. Thor's characterization of this man is a blatant impersonation of a particular individual who Americans that have been watching his machinations will instantly recognize. Kudos to Thor for not pulling punches with this character. It would pay for the American public to watch out for and become familiar with the individual Thor is referring to. Thematically the book is dark and sets a tense atmosphere while our heros struggle desparately to prevent and mitigate terrorist actions which threaten American lives and way of life. Both sides win victories and suffer loses. The action is quite good and the tension builds throughout. I can't compare it with other Thor books but I hope for future installments swiftly and will be catching up on his previous publications. With Full Black, Thor has made me a fan. Recommended.
This book continues to follow our hero, Scot Harvath, as he battles the enemies of the United States.

In this novel, it is an Islamic terror group, put together by the Chinese and co-opted by an evil Billionaire. That properly hits all the bad guys - Islamic Terror Groups, the Chinese, and of course the evil business folks. A bit trite, but Brad Thor seems to make it work.

I like the fact that Thor does his homework and has enough details to make his stories believable, so long as you don't over think them. For example he drops into the narrative superficial information on Tempest Products - those that block electrical emissions that could be used to eavesdrop on electrical devices. Yes, Tempest products have been around a long time - the first I saw were IBM electric typewriters back in the 1970's - they cost more than double the cost of a regular IBM, but had enough shielding to block out the electrical emissions. Other references seem to also be well researched. He does not go overboard with them, just drops a few in at appropriate points in the story.

He leaves us with a cliff hanger, which I am sure will lead directly into the next novel in this well written series.

It helps to have read the other books in the series, but unlike some authors, he gives just enough background to bring the reader up to speed, so they can enjoy this book, even if it is the first Scot Harvath novel they have read.
Fair warning, this book is written by a conservative writer who did not worry about political correctness when he wrote. The bad guys are evil and the good guys will do things to stop them that liberals and others who promote appeasement will not like, including torture. I'm ok with that. Some of the other reviewers here are bothered by the veiled portrayal of people who are actively working to undermine this country. Many people know that the America hating radical leftists went into four professions that would allow them to promote their agenda. They became lawyers so they could run for public office and make laws adverse to American benefit. They became judges so they could interpret the constitution in ways that the founding fathers never intended. They went into journalism so they could influence the citizenry through media that America needs to be fundamentally changed. And they became teachers so they could indoctrinate children into their belief system. Of course no every member of those professions are part of this "conspiracy" but many are involved in an orchestrated attack on the fundamental values in this country. Whether it be a hedge fund manager, or a member of congress these people need to be exposed. Vince Flynn did something similar in his first book "Term Limits". Other reviewers are also bothered by the preaching tone of this book but I personally think the American citizens need to be preached to. We've lost our way with a lack of morals, political correctness, secularity and relativism. This book identifies the moral compass Thor thinks we need to return to and if you don't like that, I suggest you not read this book.
