If you want to find your purpose, I recommend Tim Kelley's "True Purpose" and Rod Stryker's "Four Desires". Those two are loaded with practical purpose discovery exercises. There is lots of "meat" to chew on in this book. If you are looking for something that will spur your thoughts and dreams, this is it.
I had high expectations in buying The Power of Purpose, but alas, they were not fulfilled. The content was good and met my expectation, but I would have thought that a book on Purpose would have been more fulfilling or passionate. It came off way too accademic rather than personal or uplifting. It needed more zeal, more oomph...in my humble opinion. I hoped to use the book as Christmas presents for clients, but I'm not.
Richard Leider's second edition of The Power of Purpose, published in May 2010, is an essential read for anyone seeking to discover or clarify their life's purpose. In true introspective style, Richard gives us many thought-provoking questions to contemplate. I read the entire book, noting the questions that were resonating and challenging, and then went back, reflecting on the questions I had identified. The Power of Purpose is relevant for any age but this book served my own interest in purposeful aging, expanding and deepening the conversations we have with ourselves and with others as we live life on purpose. As Richard says, purpose is a gift, and this book is truly a gift to anyone seeking to find meaning in their work and in their lives.

This book is inspirational and focuses more on the inspirational side of Purpose than say 'Find Your Fit'.
This book was recommended to me by a personal coach and lots of people rave about it online. It was a very easy/quick read and it was thought-provoking in places. I get the whole part of identifying your passions and strengths -- those you know you have and those others tell you have. Didn't have any trouble with that. But I could have used more examples of other people's 'life purpose". Or better advice/explanation of how to get from passions/strength to purpose; I thought that was a weak part of the book. Bottom line... at the end of reading it I still didn't know for sure what my life purpose was. But as noted, it was thought-provoking, so not a complete waste.
